DHP Linker - Introduction
2-hydroxymethyl-3, 4-dihydroxy-2H-pyran, also known as 2-hydroxymethyl-3, 4-dihydroxy-2H-pyran, is an organic compound. Its chemical formula is C6H10O2.
Nature:
-Appearance: colorless transparent liquid
-Solubility: Soluble in water, ethanol and ether and other organic solvents.
- pH: Neutral
Use:
- 2-hydroxymethyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran can be used as a reagent in organic synthesis and is commonly used as a carrier, buffer and inhibitor for catalysts.
-It can also be used as an ingredient in spices, food additives, medicines and cosmetics.
Preparation Method:
- 2-hydroxymethyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran can be obtained by reacting 2,3-butanediol with acetaldehyde under acidic conditions.
Safety Information:
- 2-hydroxymethyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran has low toxicity and does not cause significant hazards under normal use conditions.
-During use, care should be taken to avoid contact with skin and eyes, and to ensure good ventilation conditions.
